I was in the ICU!!
Ok, i'm a lil wonky right now so bear with me as i type this out lol...

Over the past week, the FAU of TJC has done NOTHING but torture me in trying to locate 6 people willing to be patients for CGH's fire evacuation drill. Last week, no one wanted to do it, everyone simply ignored my text messages (fine, wait till you see the state of your CIP hours, i am not exactly kidding when i say some of you won't even hit 120hrs even if you went to CGH to do community work 2 times a week, 3 hours every time for the next 3 months) Seriously, (i know i'm talking to thin air here but what the heck?) do you want to spend your July, August, September and even October struggling to complete your 120 hours of CIP to gain that 2 participation points for the PEARLS system. If you still do care about your PEARLS points, i strongly suggest you wake up now and smell the coffee. In the entire unit, the person with the highest number of CIP hours has about 150hrs from last year alone, with the 2nd person trailing at around 120hrs. The average person in the unit has probably around 60 hours. The modal number of hours a unit member has is either 20hours or 40 hours. 120 hours... you still have another 100/80 hours to go even before you can start counting cip hours (and if you want all 4 points for S, you need another 80 hours, which comes up to 200hours). Painful fact of life and if you don't want to work for it, fine.

Anyway, back to what i was saying, i made the calls myself personally (rare for the duty i/c me since i normally text people., rather than call them so yea, you get the idea how bad the situation was) and managed to squeeze 4 people out (including me). Went to school today, thinking at least i have 4 people before one of the girls had to wreck my day by skipping the entire thing (she has less than 40hours.. haha..oops..) and we had to dig a year one pupil out in 10mins. So eventually, we still had 4 people.

I would say the whole experience was FUN. Yes, it was FUN. lol. It was interesting to lie on that "trolley" in the mICU and get pushed around. Let me relate a few funny incidents. (paraphrased)
  • yinxue was lying in her "trolley" and one of the staff there commented, "stop smiling lar, smile so much, don't look sick at all"
  • one woman there said to a guy there "dont talk so much, what are you trying to do in front of the little girl" <--- yinxue
  • The staff were trying to find a place to put the monitor on my "trolley" and told me ( it was a guy), "can you open your legs?" ROFLOL. My reaction? *face distorts and almost dies laughing*
  • on the way back into the ICU after the drill, we passed by this doctor and he commented "eh? patient ah?" And the nurses told him "no lar... student volunteer...where got patient so pretty one.." *blushes* hahahahaha
  • as i was getting down the gurney(i finally remembered what the "trolley" is called!!), haha the nurses were teasing me by calling me "miss singapore" o.O Don't ask me why, i have NO IDEA
I have never been on a gurney before, so it was enlightening. It was kinda cool when it was moving and i almost fell asleep on the gurney waiting for the all clear haha. how nice.... lying on the gurney with a pillow under your head, tucked under a warm blanket *snoozes*

The people there are nice, haha and we got a FREE DRINK. THe emergency events manager (cant exactly remember what the post is) bought each of us a bottle of snapple when we ended. How nice, he even offered to buy some cakes/puffs for us and we were too embarrassed to take up the offer. And the toilet in the admin office is NICE. It's an entire room on its own, each cubicle i mean. 4 rooms next to each other, all toilets. Wow... nice.

Ok onto other stuff. Today i found out my results for last term
biology --> O =(
Economics--> A
Chemistry --> D =(
Math 9233 --> A

What a disappointment. But i am thankful for the 2 As, kinda softened the blow. I was lamenting my bio results to my tutor and she said "overall your results are still ok.." and i stood there thinking "ok.. so your definition of ok is rather erm...broad and general" Fell from ABBB (promos) to AADO =( *sobz*

Ok, i think i can't take too much tea... as much as i LOVE tea. Just drank 500ml of snapple iced peach tea and i'm starting to get a slight headache. But the reaction is greater with green tea. THe last time i drank green tea with lemon, i had a splitting headache for hours. Someone give me a cup of hot, piping milk tea, please? *grins*

Gotta go now... need the bathroom from too much fluids lol. Cheerios

Location: Singapore, Singapore, Singapore

I'm a 3rd year student in what is probably the largest autonomous university in Singapore majoring in a Science-related subject (well it sorta IS SCIENCE). I'm known to be introverted, sarcastic (at times), funny when I rant (which isn't a good thing lol) and somewhat of a loner. I miss LA and would move there in a heartbeat :(
