Today marks the 15th of April, the date all you tax-paying adults must take note off, for it is the day by which you MUST file your taxes unless you have already asked for an extension.
Anyway, I am in a good mood, which hasn't exactly happened for a few weeks. I didn't go back to work yesterday due to our great ability in managing to rush out dozens of letters in a day, hence clearing our work and the staff in the office deciding to be magnanimous and giving our long weekend to us.
The result? 2 EXTREMELY HYPER girls, running around the office, doing stupid and silly stuff. Yes, I was one of them, no prizes for guessing who the other is even though she was crazier than I am.
We are to expect less overtime, less working weekends for a while. till the next tax deadline pops up, but that is a good 2 months away.
Yesterday, I went out, spent time with YOU, quality time I might add. For the first time in ages, I wasn't complaining about work. We had a conversation about religion. Very insightful if I may add. Today, I'm just looking forward to having YOU over, which seldom happens 'cause I think us spending time in my place is a lot scarier than at YOUr place, which I think YOU agree (do you?).
Because of the sheer joy I was feeling, I cleaned MOST of my room up. The computer table, writing desk (which has too litle space to write on), the bed, tv cabinet, trolley-drawer have all been given a good wipe, and the clutter rearranged to give the impression of a semi-neat person even though we all know I'm quite lazy. I only do this when I can no longer stand the clutter in the room (my tolerance's pretty high) or when the mood strikes me. Last night was the night when the mood struck me. Lol. The strange things people get up to when they're in a good mood.
After my room cleaning (I somewhat cleaned the toilet too), I showered and caught the remainder of the Charlie's Angels marathon on AXN. Did I mention I love AXN? Lol. I caught CSI Season 6 on it on Wednesday night ( after finding out that Starworld is showing Grey's Anatomy as well!), one entire season ahead of our local free-to-air stations.
Backtrack a little to the dinner on Saturday, the birthday dinner I should say. Went there not knowing anyone (I'm quite an alien to the paternal side). I must say the food wasn't fantastic. I've had better, for less money. It was quite an excruciating event for me, it being an obvious Catholic occasion, since my paternal relatives are Roman Catholics. I'm obviously no Catholic, not having ever been to Sunday school, no baptism. But my tolerance for Catholicism is a lot higher for Christianity, mainly because of the way Christians in Singapore have acted in front of me, as compared to the Catholics who have always seemed respectful of the views of others. For that, I have no major issues with Catholics and I'm just happy to let it pass. If the birthday boy (who's now 70) thinks it is God's grace that he's managed to get to this age without any major health ailment, so be it. As long as he doesn't preach and proselytise.
I almost can't believe it that it's only Saturday. I hardly ever get the chance to feel this rested. Unbelievable. Time to wash up. Cya!
I'm a 3rd year student in what is probably the largest autonomous university in Singapore majoring in a Science-related subject (well it sorta IS SCIENCE). I'm known to be introverted, sarcastic (at times), funny when I rant (which isn't a good thing lol) and somewhat of a loner. I miss LA and would move there in a heartbeat :(
