I met up with some friends tonight for a quick dinner and a nice conversation. I'm slightly happier than I've been for the past 3 days and it's a good thing. Feels so much better to have this weight lifted off my shoulders temporarily though I do think that it's a matter of time before it returns. Till then, I shall rejoice in this temporary respite.
I had dinner at Pepper Lunch tonight. Basically it's a fast food outlet with a quirky manner of serving its food. What they do is to lay out your uncooked foot on a heated hotplate and serve it to you. The moment they do so, you start cooking your food using the heat from the heated hotplate as well as the butter placed in some pretty strategic places within your food. In a matter of minutes, your food is cooked and ready to be consumed. Nice idea and I reckon that it'll appeal to the older generation of Singaporeans as the food is really quite Asian, not to mention it's piping hot and it's not McDonald's version of hamburger, Coca Cola and fries.
Ok, it's almost 11.30pm now. Although I've managed to go some 60 pages of philosophy readings (actually I only covered the lecturer's very lengthy introduction to Plato's Republic, half of which I still don't quite get and I couldn't possibly summarise it for you), I still have an eyesore full of sociology stuff to read through.
The recreation club in the university I'm thinking of holding has an invitation for an ACRES meeting in February. I'm tempted to go, should I?
