Finally, im back here. After eons of thinking to myself "should i blog today", i finally decided to come back and just type something.
This morning, i am one hell of an annoyed person. I seriously think that my mother was born w/o any brains so to speak of. You do not go into a person's room, on the pretence of mopping, and then proceed to make noise that's LOUDER than a rocket taking off while the person is still sleeping. Yes, that is how BRAINLESS my mother is. So right now, i am sleep deprived after sleeping for 5 hours, i have a backache as well as a headache and i feel like drilling a hole through anyone (and i do mean ANYONE) if he/she comes and tries to irritate me.
And that includes MOE (nice transition there, isnt it?). On friday, we FINALLY got back our project work results and i admit, i am disappointed with what i got. Band 2. Seriously, what the ****!!! Let me set the record straight. For one, i believe that NO ONE in my group should get below a Band 2 and that happens to be just about the ONLY THING that the intellectually challenged examiners at the board seem to agree with me. So obviously that means that my ENTIRE group ended up with band 2s. But i also happen to believe, within my group, there are AT LEAST 2 people in it who deserve a band 1 (and of course this may sound egoistic but i do believe that i deserve a band 1). ANd what i am going to say next is going to sound absurd but this came from MOE nonetheless.
For Communitcation: - Confidence: Shows confidence and familiarity with the subject throughout. Very confident and familiar with the entire project. Well-reheared (all good comments, notice?) - Awareness of audience: Used gestures to engage the audience. Gestures a bit, TOO WELL-REHEARSED and not natural but does try to engage the audience. Need to learn to look more directly at audience rather than elsewhere.
Let me try to defend myself here (red draws attention, does it? lol). Being well-rehearsed became both my "forte" and my "downfall"?!?!?! Now which examiner hasnt been using his/her head?!?!?!?! And by the way, i DID NOT memorise a script. I MEMORISED THE IMPORTANT POINTS. That was just about how far i went. So if the ability to string clear, conherent sentences while still sounding confident is obviously wrong (as in my case), then i'd think sounding grammatically incorrect 90% of the time, stuttering would be 100% correct. And with regards to their "unnatural" comment, i say "SCREW YOU!" Natural enough? That's the way i speak when im driving a point across and yes, it is NATURAL. Just try anyone who's seen me in debates and you would have seen worse. I'm no doubt aggressive (verbally lol) while i need to drive a point across or when im arguing (lol, not a pretty sight..) Oh yes and about me not looking at the audience, i did. Except i looked at everyone in the room, not just the 4 self-centred morons seated in the front row. Shoot yourself in the foot, moron!
I'm a 3rd year student in what is probably the largest autonomous university in Singapore majoring in a Science-related subject (well it sorta IS SCIENCE). I'm known to be introverted, sarcastic (at times), funny when I rant (which isn't a good thing lol) and somewhat of a loner. I miss LA and would move there in a heartbeat :(
