Haha, today i spent erm... 7 hours out? Not a record for me.. but im a little amazed, for someone's who's supposed to be mugging, i only mugged for 3.5 hours tonight.
Today was the first time i got on a motorbike. The first time was BAD. Hahaha, not to say the driver was bad, it was more like i was about to get a heart attack out of fear any moment. Petrified, terrified, tensed, nervous... all understatements. I mean, you trust a person who doesnt even know how to ride a bicycle to erm get on a motorcycle? Roflol. Anyhow, throughout the 30min or so journey, i didnt even dare look up!! Hahaha, quite a sight, i reckon. Yup, i didnt even have the guts to look up and spent 90% of the time staring at the road =P So you can imagine, the moment i saw Suntec, i literally hopped off the bike (land, oh glorious land), to be disappointed that there would be another ride as there were no available lots left to park. Ahhhh.. But, i survived lol. The ride back was better haha, at least i actually looked at the "scenery" (do we actually have those in Singapore???). Oh and thanks for the shirt, i realise now i got my first red t-shirt haha. EDIT: I almost thought the shirt was too small for it, yes, even petite people might find things small. That was till i managed to somewhat squeeze myself into the shirt! Am i really that small-sized? Do i look that small-sized? Seriously?? I know i'm short (1.54m) and my weight's relatively ok (42.5kg) but don't tell me to shop in the children's dept (my mum told me to do that on a few occasions! lol) o.O
The scholarship thingy, was a HUGE disappointment. All the scholarship bodies there... i've seen, heard their presentations and have their brochures. I have no more questions for them. Was expecting so much more, especially since the ST had the audacity to run such a huge publicity campaign for it.
Lunch was extremely filling. Had japanese food, tried my first california roll (yes, i never ate one of them till now, even those that they make at edo sushi), had udon that came in a claypot the size of my face (lol). Nice (i liked the soup =) ) and VERY filling. And i proved (somewhat) my eating prowess (didnt i?=P) by downing the udon (all of it), one pretty huge cup of iced lemon tea, 2 erm.. what do you call those... salmon rice rolls? and 1 seaweed rice roll with the octopus filling (pardon me, as you can see, i am extremely inept with the names of the various types of japanese foods, sushi or not *dodges*). On the whole, not too bad i would say *nods head*, not bad at all. I could get used to it hahaha, YUM *salivates*.
Then it was time to catch..The Island. Despite reaching the cinema only 5 minutes before the show, we managed to get centre seats (i love eng wah!! Teresa, although you dont even read this, they have nachos at Eng Wah!! I think.... saw the poster for it lol.. so you don't have to keep haunting GV for your nachos) . The show was well... nice =) . Some unexplainable parts there ; like how they grew the adult clones (not from babies, they were "born" adults, found the wrinkled "infants" quite gross haha), and how did the 2 clones manage to run across the 'desert' w/o any water? I would have died from dehydration lol. Pretty thought-provoking i'd say. I shuddered at the thought of having to live the way the clones did, in a highly-supervised environment, where even your urine is monitored. Excuse me, but i'd like to keep the contents of my urine to myself, thank you =P. Who the clones interacted with, and how close they got was also monitored. What was pretty comical was the part where Lincoln Six Echo met Tom Lincoln and Tom Lincoln finds out his clone is still a virgin. Lol. I also didnt quite get how the clones got their "sponsors'" (as they called it in the movie) memories. Aren't memories supposed to be unique to that person only? I don't think the memories are coded within the DNA, if so, shouldnt the clones have nothing but only their own memories, and not the sponsors'? I think only Dolly (our now very dead cloned sheep) can answer the question; did she ever remember stuff that her mother (or mothers!) did? Of course sheep can't talk, and the sheep in question is dead, so we'll never know... unless we kidnap Eve (the supposed first human clone) and find out for ourselves? Hmmm... of course i'm just joking, i don't have the resources to try anything close to that scale. The 2 escaped clones were also unbelievably lucky. Who would have believed that despite falling 70 stories, clinging onto a building logo, these 2 would have just grabbed a safety net and survive that drastic fall? No wonder that guy made the "jesus" comment (that was a really cute comment haha). This time, i wasnt disappointed by the ending (unlike War of the Worlds). It wasnt anti-climatic (to me), but it was the usual good triumph over evil ending that we all come to expect from movies. I wonder if i'm desensitised, teresa watched it till she was on the brink of tears, so i was expecting some semi-sappy scenes... but to me, there was none. A healthy dose of cringing but nothing that made me even want to cry (i can be a crybaby, trust me). On the whole, i guess the money spent wasnt too wasted *nudge, nudge: thanks!* lol.
EEk.. i spent one hour typing this (lol). Ok... should stop... must study (or sleep?). Cya
I'm a 3rd year student in what is probably the largest autonomous university in Singapore majoring in a Science-related subject (well it sorta IS SCIENCE). I'm known to be introverted, sarcastic (at times), funny when I rant (which isn't a good thing lol) and somewhat of a loner. I miss LA and would move there in a heartbeat :(
