I'm going camping! Lol. I have no idea what that outburst was for. My apologies. I HAVEN'T packed. I'm NOT bringing certain items because I DON'T think that it's a necessity. I am not bringing the mobile phone charger (which reminds me that I haven't started charging the spare battery), the camera (NO WAY), the sun tan lotion and probably the trackpants (I haven't worn one since 2003). I am not bringing my Creative MP3 player, instead I'm substituting it with the cheap (ok FREE) H*******ton MP3 player.
Things to pack (Just a mental note for myself, you can skip this):
3 sets of clothing (MUST REMEMBER to include socks, not that I've ever forgotten) Toiletries (Shampoo, towel, toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, face wash) Bandaids Sandals Swim/Beach wear Water bottle Insect repellent Sleeping bag Writing materials The freaking MP3 player Smart casual clothing (-.-''') Mug TOILET ROLL Dark coloured tee shirt
That's a LOT of things to bring for a 4 day camp, I don't think I packed so much stuff for my OBS (Outward Bound School) camp in 2002. And that camp was a 5-day camp.
And about that haircut, my heart skipped so many beats (not just one) as the hairdresser was snipping the hair off. I distinctively remembered asking him to 'layer' the hair A LITTLE and he gave me lots of layers. Lol. All's well ends well. Thankfully. Plus hair is essentially keratin and that can be replaced as the hair grows.
I just packed (Ok, I took a break earlier on) and my bag looks positively 'pregnant'. This is why I hate it when camp organisers don't plan properly. They make us bring things that are non-essential (Seriously... smart casual clothing???) To further lighten the load, I am considering ditching the sleeping bag and leaving the spare battery out. That's why I just moved some items into a 2nd smaller bag. Man.... I hate it when camps make us bring so many unnecessary things. To look on the bright (but pretty shallow) side, I hope I lose some weight after going through with the camp.
Not-so-lately in the news, a future doctor in Singapore was caught in possession of drugs *the bad kind lol*. The controversy here is how the police managed to make the arrest. One word. Entrapment. Lots of takes on this issue by many prominent local bloggers but personally, I don't have an issue in using this particular method in apprehending drug traffickers and such. Cruel, archaic. Whatever. We're dealing with a crime that's pretty barbaric to begin with. A crime the involves sacrificing the future of many youths and young adults. Those naive enough to start on them that is. So if entrapment is the best method available from stemming the supply of narcotics to our local clubs, pubs and whatever entertainment venue you can think of, it's fine by me. The line draws there though. No using of entrapment to arrest would-be murderers, kidnappers, shoplifters etc etc etc. The main reason being drug offenders have the potential to directly and indirectly affect a far larger number of people than other criminals.
What's more disappointing is that the person caught wasn't just your man on the street. It was a doctor (or soon to be). Someone you'd hold to a higher level of moral standard. Someone who probably took (or will take) the Hippocratic Oath to promise to serve for the good of his/her patients. Someone you'd trust with your life (most probably because you don't really have a choice). And for that someone not to value his own life and not to be discerning enough to steer clear of narcotics is vastly disappointing. This is someone whom you would want to advise you to stay away from drugs. And someone like that has been caught with them.
Ok, I think I'm done blogging for now. Will update soon.
I'm a 3rd year student in what is probably the largest autonomous university in Singapore majoring in a Science-related subject (well it sorta IS SCIENCE). I'm known to be introverted, sarcastic (at times), funny when I rant (which isn't a good thing lol) and somewhat of a loner. I miss LA and would move there in a heartbeat :(
