Babble VI
I am going to talk abt.... Shu Hui's advanced birthday bbq last night =)

Haha, had quite an enjoyable time there, let's start from the top, shall we?

Met Elaine and Xing Qi at White Sands at 3.45pm (for once, I didn't wait for more than 15mins!! Of course, it's the 2 of them, who are NOT expected to be late lol). And you know what happens when you put 3 girls who completely don't know how to shop together? Yes, you get 3 very, very, VERY indecisive girls when it comes to getting a birthday gift.

Our initial plan was to meet at 3.45pm, get the gift and get our butts at the location by 5pm so we would have time to cycle (boohoo.. I don't know how to ). Well, it then turns out that dear XQ was wearing a SKIRT!! Goodness me... Never in my dreams did I expect to EVER see her in a skirt. Haha. Everyone's reaction was something along those lines as well haha. Anyhow, we walked, and browsed, and by the time we bought the gifts, settled the card, and ate McDonalds, it was 6.30pm.

So we took a bus down to Downtown East, found Shu Hui (rather she found us) and XQ had to suggest walking to the beach to watch the sun set (Notice we're in the east? Lol). Haha, so XQ modified her aim and changed it to "watching the sky darken", setting Shu Hui and her lameness(which I almost forgot the extent of which, thanks for the reminder haha) off.

Got back to the chalet room, found 3 more squadmates there (ChingHuey, Zi Ting and Lisa), crapped some more (about some 2nd puberty? Haha, don't ask me, I'm not very fluent in Chinese, so half the time, I was, as what they say in Hokkien, "catch no ball"? ). The BBQ was ok, as usual I avoided the chicken wings, mainly because I didn't want to use my hands. Haha, erm let's just say the conversation this time around revolved around relationships (as usual, Elaine and I had NOTHING to say hahaha, the other 4 did!!). Lisa was teaching XQ some erm tips on how to deal with her significant other and somehow, the topic got quite X-rated, and Elaine and I got lost at that point. Haha, I kept looking at Elaine and asking her "Do you follow what they're saying? 'Cause I'm lost". Ok, so the 2 of us were confused, but I was the more confused one lol. Haha I reckon it was nice seeing at least some of the squad mates again, nice change from the JC people I have to put up with. For a moment, you feel as if you don't need to guard against them, 'cause nothing will be used against you (or you trust they won't use anything against you lol). It was more fun, lively than what I remember any of my JC gatherings to be (that's why I always skip them, 'cause attending them can really make you feel unwanted, bored and yea, you just wanna go home). That's the difference between TKGS and TJC.

In TKGS, bitchy some people might be, but I guess, at the end of the day, I know I can generally trust my squad mates, probably with my life (they had a dozen opportunities to kill me on the stretcher back in TK lol). My classmates, well we weren't close, but when there wasn't any backstabbing and you knew there would be some people on your side. So yea.

In TJC, the lines blur and you no longer know who's a friend and who's hostile. Someone might seem awfully nice to you, friendly, but the moment your back is turned, they go all out to tarnish your reputation. So my defences are always up, you never really know who to trust, but when you do, I guess you will hold on to that. So far, I only count a few, the number of fingers I have on one hand would be more than that number.

So well, yea, last night, was a great change to what I've been putting up with for the past 21 months.Anyhow, as usual, we made a thousand and one plans for squad outings after the A Levels (which may be hard to materialise lol). Ok, so we only made 3.

1. Outing to Wild Wild Wet
2. Cruise! (Star Capricorn please? =P)
3. Xmas gathering (maybe we'll merge 2 and 3?)

Yup, all tentatively scheduled in December. Of course, someone (we arrowed XQ) will have to take charge of the planning =P If all of them materialises, I am going to be very, very impressed!

I'm a 3rd year student in what is probably the largest autonomous university in Singapore majoring in a Science-related subject (well it sorta IS SCIENCE). I'm known to be introverted, sarcastic (at times), funny when I rant (which isn't a good thing lol) and somewhat of a loner. I miss LA and would move there in a heartbeat :(
