The Post Before I Go to Work, Officially
I start work 9.5 hours from now. I never thought I'd see this day (although it would have arrived so much sooner had I accepted the relief teaching gig, but I'm a lil glad I didn't. THe thought that you might be unlucky enough to have to teach your cousin's class + the fact that the new principal isn't something I'm open to is enough to put me off teaching, and that I have too many relatives who are teachers).

My bag is packed.

Umbrella, check. Plastic bag to store wet umbrella, check. Wallet (with cash and ATM card+EZlink card), check. Stationery, check. Tiny notebook, check. Timesheet, check. Keys, check. All I have to do now is to make sure my mobile phone battery doesn't run flat on me and chuck the thing in tomorrow morning before I head out.

Things to do in the morning.

6am: Rise and shine
6.15am: Iron blouse (why are some blouses so easily crumpled?!?!?!)
6.25am: Shower
6.40am: Check + double check items
6.50am: Time to zone out for a little while
7am: Head out and hope I won't be late
8.10am: Reach Tanjong Pagar MRT Station.

Haven't exactly decided on what to wear. The only sure thing is the black skirt. The blouse will probably be the white 3-quarter sleeved blouse with vertical lines. To wear blazer or not? Hmmm... Don't want to risk crumpling my blouse on the first day. SO I'll take the risk and freeze to death in the office on the first day. Should I?

As you can tell, this post isn't exactly meant for reading. It's meant to help me organise my thoughts for tomorrow. What I should do at what time, etc etc etc. This is almost like going back for my internship, except the stakes are so much higher.More pay (considerably!!!). Longer term. No more allowance (see?!?!?! Parents are biased. They give their sons going through National Service, who draw an allowance from the GOVERNMENT and has food provided for them in their military camps, pocket money but don't even care about their daughters who go out there and WORK.). The day they revoke my transport allowance (it's not really an allowance coz the fees get deducted from their bank accounts directly, courtesy of GIRO), you are going to see me live from hand to mouth. The only event that can complete this whole transition is them kicking me out of the house and me living on the streets (you know that has happened when I suddenly stop blogging). Life is never fair, what can I say?

Time for bed! Gosh, I feel excited (about work), fearful (about work, again) at the same time. DO I sound loony to any one of you? DO I????

Name:
Location: Singapore, Singapore, Singapore

I'm a 3rd year student in what is probably the largest autonomous university in Singapore majoring in a Science-related subject (well it sorta IS SCIENCE). I'm known to be introverted, sarcastic (at times), funny when I rant (which isn't a good thing lol) and somewhat of a loner. I miss LA and would move there in a heartbeat :(
