Now that I am even remotely employed. I am, just not yet. My work starts next Wednesday. I will try not to blog about work.
Heck, you know as well as I do that I wont be able to do that. But I will try not to reveal too much details such that readers will know who my employer is, lest I get fired. You never know, blogging is dangerous business nowadays.
Went down earlier on with Elaine and signed the contract. Turns out that Filina and friend will be working there too. Met the last of the 5 temp staff, a girl named Doreen. SO things look pretty fine for the moment.
And now, I'm sitting on a chair feeling bored. WIll not turn up for a supposed class dinner supposedly today. I got an sms in the wee hours of this morning telling me it's TOMORROW. So I'm really not sure if the sender was still in Wednesday or in THursday. I was told by someone else that it will be today. But who cares? I'm not going. Don't really fancy this class anyway. The one to look out for is Saturday's. 1st 3 months 22/04 gathering. Now that's promising. Plus, almost everyone from my original clique, minus the poor girl in Malaysia, will be there. So it'll be fun.
YOU have the SIMS 2 nightlife =(. Ok, I will be happy for YOU =), esp since YOU're going to spread the joy hehehe. But I wont have long to enjoy it since I'm starting work soon. Gotta morph back into office attire, but I'm hoping that court shoes won't be compulsory (Will be wearing them just to be safe for the first day). Court shoes give me blisters. Ok, the court shoes I have (which aren't really that nice, prefer something with higher heels) give me blisters. Other than that, I have the skirts and blouses. Being an intern helped in terms of office wear haha. You know, whenever I see the word intern, I keep thinking of...Monica Lewinsky. I'm sorry, but she is one hell of an intern, of course not in a good way. Just that she gives interns a bad name, and I've been one myself.
Eveline's back in Indonesia where she caught Memoirs of a Geisha (pirated..shhh.....). She says it's good... can't wait for the local release. Jan 19. 2 weeks away.
The Lunar New Year is 3 weeks away. ANd I'm thinking if I should regret turning down the offer to be a relief teacher for biology. I mean, it's good money, definitely more than what I'm getting now. But I can't go back on my word, and not to mention, Tempserv was really nice to find me a job the day after I signed up with them. Plus I gave Amanda my word almost an hour before I got the offer from my alma mater. But the pay is such a plus factor, the distance too. On the bright side, my job doesn't require me to raise my voice at a class of students monkeying around, thinking that it's the first term where nothing is finalised hence using it as their "honeymoon" period. I find it sad that more junior college students have that mentality. What they don't realise till later on is that those who take their work seriously right from the start in January normally do so much better than those who don't. They have a much stronger foundation in their subjects, which is imperative in some subjects like Chemistry and Economics, making later topics easier for them to digest. I admit, I was one of the "no-life" students who took her work seriously right from January. Partially because I don't have a playful streak in me. But because of that, I got a better foundation in econs (bio doesn't count, I always liked bio and my year 1 topics were....so-so.... ), which stood me in good stead for microeconomics. Well other than not having to handle rowdy students, I don't have to mark anything, and I have FRIENDS working with me, at least 2 of them in fact, both being ex-classmates at some point in time. It's all about pros and cons.
The monsoon season is late, again. It was supposed to be last month, and it turns up NOW. This is the 2nd consecutive day it has rained dogs and cats in my area. Which makes the weather oh-so-nice to sleep in.
I'm a 3rd year student in what is probably the largest autonomous university in Singapore majoring in a Science-related subject (well it sorta IS SCIENCE). I'm known to be introverted, sarcastic (at times), funny when I rant (which isn't a good thing lol) and somewhat of a loner. I miss LA and would move there in a heartbeat :(
