I went out (wanted to, rather) to get myself a cup of water 'cause I was thirsty. The moment I opened the freaking door, I saw ths oval-shaped speck at my door step. Before I knew what it was, it scuttered from my doorstep to my parents' room door. Ok.. I thought..cockroach at my door and no Baygon in sight. So I gave up my quest for my cup of water from the kettle in the kitchen and settled for TAP WATER.
It's times like this that makes me glad to be living in a country where our tap water is safe for consumption, right from the tap. Of course, don't start on me about the whole NEWater thing (recycled water from you-know-where). Come on, I mean, I've drunk NEWater myself! Errr.. I'm not proud of that I must admit, acknowledging its dubious origins.
I had sushi for dinner. YUM. I shall say it again. YUM. I love sushi. I love raw salmon(pronounced as sa-mon, something I learnt in Secondary 4 from my English teacher, who was probably the most established English teacher I have had, when it comes to teaching you the correct pronunciation of words. Of course, most people I know do insist on saying "SAL-MON") which melts in your mouth the moment you eat it. I love fried tofu. I seem to have considerable difficulty chewing through seaweed though, esp the one that comes with the California Roll. Nice meal. And for 2 rather full people (the phrase was "not very hungry"), we (meaning YOU and I) ate quite a lot. I mean, one huge bowl of noodles (OK the bowl was half full), 2 plates of tofu, 2 California Rolls, 10 plates of sushi and 1 cup of green tea ice cream (I still can't decide whether I like it or hate it. Can't quite put my finger on it...hmmm....). All these shared between 2 people and we were seriously not very hungry?!?!?!
My watch has DIED on me. SO I am WATCHLESS! I mean, I have no proper watch to wear to work =( What luck. Must try to get the battery changed. There was once a period of time when I could never imagine wearing a watch and now that it's become a habit I feel.....incomplete without it. Of course, now would be a good time to pester my mum for a nicer watch but it is after all just a very dead battery and I don't think I've done anything to send this dear watch of mine to watch heaven prematurely at the tender age of 3. Have I?
I got something from Teresa as a birthday gift and I can't quite figure what is it. It's a soft toy of a round and red pig with a slot on the top. The slot isn't big enough to squeeze my mobile phone in there. So what is that slot for? Suggestions anyone?
Haha, I have a sudden feeling that my dogs discovered the rather unfortunate cockroach. The quiet one barked for a few minutes earlier on. If she barks continuously, it usually means she's having a conversation with the labrador retriever living on the 1st floor. But that was a short one. SO I have a feeling it means that she found the cockroach and was announcing her find to my very much asleep mother. Considering how much dogs LOVE to eat anything that fits their mouth, I wonder if she's eaten it. I hope not. I feel sick thinking about my dog eating that cockroach. I hope she has better manners than that!!!!
Ugh, I'm still having stomach cramps. Don't you hate them? Been having them all night. Beware, I'm cranky and grumpy now. You don't wanna get on my nerves.
I'm annoyed that there's no Scrubs on tv tonight. Project Runway, check. Grey's Anatomy, check. Scrubs, UNcheck! Damn..... I want my Scrubs, now give it back to me. And where's CSI(Not CSI Miami or NY)? Bring it back, NOW! Why do local broadcasters produce mediocre shows on their own and then put great shows like CSI, Scrubs and Grey's Anatomy at ridiculous times of close to midnight (or past it)? DO they not appreciate great shows like that? Or do they seriously think viewers are interested in watching local actors murder the English language acting out cliched and corny plots? Don't give me somewhat good looking MTV Asia VJs acting in half-baked tv shows who speaks like Americans when it really isn't natural for Asians to speak like that. Why is it that only news achors are capable of speaking good English w/o sounding American/European? Why? Why? Why? Dont put shows like IT(local show), Tab TV, PCK, Chase and the likes at the prime time slots of 8pm and 10pm. Instead, put the great shows there and relegate these 2nd class shows to the 11pm, 12 midnight slots. This is not my discriminating against local shows. This is me discriminating against poorly made shows. Unless local producers are capable of producing shows of a higher quality, please don't take up the prime time slots. Of course the only reason why I'm somewhat glad the good shows are shown late in the night is because that leaves me time to go out with YOU and still return home and be able to watch them. Only plus point. And for that, I'll let the whole local-and-mediocre-shows-hogging-prime-time-slots issue slide. For now.
I'm a 3rd year student in what is probably the largest autonomous university in Singapore majoring in a Science-related subject (well it sorta IS SCIENCE). I'm known to be introverted, sarcastic (at times), funny when I rant (which isn't a good thing lol) and somewhat of a loner. I miss LA and would move there in a heartbeat :(
