And as we wave goodbye to April
Hmm the past few days have been rather interesting for me, pretty nice days, excluding the parts about me being sleep-deprived, as usual, for the entire week.

Yesterday, after school, i caught The Interpreter =) Finally. It was worth it, all 2h30mins of it. I must say that Nicole Kidman and Sean Penn did a fairly decent job at portraying what their characters are going through in the movie (although i do believe that Nicole Kidman did a better job in The Others, Cold Mountain im not too sure since i didnt get to watch it and i still prefer Sean Penn in Dead Man Walking).

--MAJOR SPOILER AHEAD--
Sylvia Broome's a UN interpreter who overhears what she thinks is a plot to assasinate Matobo's (it doesn't exist, fyi lol) president. After a rather unsettling ride in the next day, she reports what she hears and in pops Keller and partner. The agents don't believe Sylvia, and after having investigated her background (with lots of "help" from the Matobo president's security head), they dig up enough dirt on her to render her a suspect. All that until she gets an uninvited guest who waves to her outside her fire escape, and from there on, Keller and agents end up having an extra person to protect, Sylvia. Out of the blue, Philippe, a photographer for a French mag, as well as a friend of Sylvia and her brother, Simon, shows up unexpectedly trying to inform Sylvia that her bother, together with her ex-lover, has died in Matobo after being ambushed in a football stadium. The first time he fails, soon after he dies and leaves a note behind for her, informing her of the deaths. Simon's belongings are enough to drive Sylvia over the edge and she flees, on the pretence of going home, which Keller interprets as Matobo. On the day the president arrives, after a relatively close shave with death, the agents manage to apprehend the mastermind behind the plot, the security head, which means the assasination was all a show. As they keep the president in a safe room, Sylvia, who has been in the room since the previous night appears, wrestling the gun away from the president and holds him hostage. Keller, after figuring out the true meaning behind Sylvia's message, enters the room and manages to end the situation on a peaceful note. The president is tried in the ICC for crimes against humanity and Sylvia is sent back to Matobo in the end.
--END OF SPOILER--

Yup, that was a rather brief summary of the movie. I like the bus scene, heh, that was nice, i thought. Now the movies i'm looking out for would be Kingdom of Heaven, War of the Worlds and Star Wars Ep 3.

Ok fast track to today. This morning i was at Singapore Expo for the Times Book Warehouse Sale. I'm surprised at the prices at which the books were going (each book for $10 and under). Although I couldnt find the 2 books by Brian Sykes I was looking for, and i wasnt able to locate the "5 People You Meet in Heaven". I must say that their organisation leaves much to be desired. Books were everywhere, in no particular order, classified into fiction, non-fiction, heath, parenting, food and beverages and children's. Other than that, we had same books in a thousand and one different tables and rows. Geez, think they could arrange it according to the authors as well?

Anyhow, i bought 7 books, which isnt too bad i reckon =)

Ok, i think im gonna stop here for now, will update later if i can. Cya

Location: Singapore, Singapore, Singapore

I'm a 3rd year student in what is probably the largest autonomous university in Singapore majoring in a Science-related subject (well it sorta IS SCIENCE). I'm known to be introverted, sarcastic (at times), funny when I rant (which isn't a good thing lol) and somewhat of a loner. I miss LA and would move there in a heartbeat :(
