FAU Camp
You give your hand to me, and then you say "hello"
And I can hardly speak, my heart is beating so
And anyone can tell, you think you know me well,
Well, you don't know me

No, you don't know the one, who dreams of you at night
And longs to kiss your lips, and longs to hold you tight

Oh I'm just a friend, that's all I've ever been
'Cause you dont know me

For I never knew the art of making love
Though my heart aches with love for you
Afraid and shy I let my chance go by
A chance that you might love me too

You give your hand to me, and then you say goodbye
I watch you walk away, beside the lucky guy
Ooh you never know, the one who loves you so
Well you dont know me

For I never knew the art of making love
Though my heart aches with love for you
Afraid and shy i let my chance go by
A chance that you might love me too

You give your hand to me, and then you say goodbye
I watch you walk away beside the lucky guy
Oooh you never know, the one who loves you so
You don't know me mmm....
You never know
The one who loves you so
Well..you don't know me

I just find that song really, really soothing... Title's "You Don't Know Me" by Michael Buble. Go listen to it, if you can.

An update. Well I'm gonna jump straight into the FAU camp.

FAU Camp, i was the 4th person to reach at ermmm..8.30am (how punctual *grins*). Nothing eventful happened, we started late 'cause almost everyone was late (including our teacher in-charge!!). The first thing we had would be a lecture on evacuational drills, conducted by our 2 first aid instructors (for the mis-informed and confused, I'm the Duty in-charge). While that was going on, the year 2s scuttled outside for a "secret" meeting. Well, all the year 1s saw the year 2s exit, hence it wasnt much of a secret. We were being briefed by Weiling (vice-chairperson) regarding the triage (as the St John's people call it) or case study (as the Red Cross people call it). All of us were to become casualties, so mine was a fracture (unconscious), formula for disaster for me later on. So ok, I figured, let's not give them something too simple (eg arm fracture) but not give them an excuse to really, REALLY take advantage of me (eg pelvic fracture). Ok, so i settled for a kneecap fracture. Relatively decent, yet not too easy to treat fracture. What happens later on...

During the case study, turns out that we had abt 6/7 year 2s congregating in my area due to some cleaning being carried out in the school. 1 heart attack (lol!!!!), 1 fracture, 2 sprains, and 2 others with injuries im not too sure of, one of them i think has an asthma attack. The year 1s took long, really long to locate the 6/7 of us (they WALKED). When they got there, they got their priorities of first aid all mixed up.

Priorities of first aid
1.Asphyxia
2. Wound
3. Fracture
4. Burns
5. Shock

They treat the asthma guy first, followed by the 2 sprains, before turning to the heart attack guy, eventually leaving the people with the 2 most severe injuries (according to the priorities of first aid, possibly with the exception of the asthma and heart attack guys) behind (me and one guy with unknown injuries). By the time it was my turn (i warned the male first aid not to "molest me" or he would die), they treated me (correctly, considering the guy's certified and a kneecap fracture isnt exactly hard to treat, it's just difficult making sure the narrow bandages are tied tight enough). But when it was time to move me to the stretcher, one of the male first aiders just grabbed my legs (thighs to be exact, god!!! I wish i had slapped him!! There were some girls around!!! Get them to do it!!)and pulled (i was in a somewhat semi-recumbent position, leaning against the wall). How dare he violate and outrage my modesty!!! There was 1 certified female aider there!!!! He should have gotten her to do it, or simply ask me to move myself (i would have glady done so if he had asked), not try to do it himself.

Next came another traumatising experience. The stretcher ride back to base. I was placed with my head to close to the side of the stretcher, never mind that. 2 guys carried the stretcher with me on it, and the stretcher was bouncing all the way back to base!!! When we reached the staircase, i really, really, really offered to hop my way up (despite having a figure of 8 tied around my feet)!!! But NOOOOO those 2 just tried to carry me up.. despite a clear indication that they were unable to do so, and they ignored my advice to ask the girls to help (girls can carry stretchers with people on them you know... a whole big chunk of any Red Cross related stuff I did back in secondary school involved stretchering people around, ok so my evacuation skills were better than my first aid skills..) I had the most terrifying ride on a stretcher ever!!! (though i thought nothing could match the time my 2 squadmates bounced the stretcher with me on it for fun and the time i was their casualty for the emergency exercise drill when we were practicing going up and down stairs). At least back in TKGS, i knew i could count on my squad mates not to really, really drop me (though i think they wanted to on a few occasions lol! or they almost ) but this time!!! I was telling them that they were gonna get a real casualty if they drop me. Thankfully I made it up the stairs in one piece and soon after tt, we reached base (PHEW!!!).

After the traumatising case study, it was time for lunch, but i didnt eat as i didnt have any appetite, so Weiling and I left to prepare for wet games (tying water bombs *evil grin*). Eventually, we got disgruntled because the year 2s were playing CARDS while we were slogging (i went back to get some stuff, so i know). Somehow, i was already tired by the time wet games started, so i avoided participating (hence ensuring i remained DRY lol). After wet games, we had the scavenger hunt (yay, slack time!), before we had the hustings.

Lol, i think i was a lil harsh on the year 1s during hustings. I lambasted the year 1 ic for Titans for suggesting I was too involved (well, he went MIA first!! So the year 2s got fed up), then i went after him for his "OK leadership qualities". Then i went after a current exco member re-running for chairperson with regards to a few loopholes in his plans. Following which, I turned on the 2 people running for the post of vice-chairperson and the secretary (who seem to forget that she was gonna be the Duty ic too, which ironically, happens to be a far heavier and more demanding post than secretary). However, i do think that the year 1s now think that Duty ic is a horrible post to hold (to me, it is.... lol!!! Damn difficult). Well, i was the harshest on these people, the others... i didnt really care much about them. Voting was carried out shortly after and now, we have our new exco (with their undetermined posts lol). Yes, we already kicked the extra person out (choosing 7 from 8) and i shan't say anything here. Top secret for now. lol.

After the camp, we went to LJS for dinner, us 7 year 2s and 2 year 1s. And we sat there, talking (the guys realised how different a frequency we the girls were from them) till 9pm before we went home.

Anyway i should stop now, cya

I'm a 3rd year student in what is probably the largest autonomous university in Singapore majoring in a Science-related subject (well it sorta IS SCIENCE). I'm known to be introverted, sarcastic (at times), funny when I rant (which isn't a good thing lol) and somewhat of a loner. I miss LA and would move there in a heartbeat :(
