Got back my GP grades today, and I am pretty disappointed. I managed 55 for the entire paper, 27 for the essay and 28 for the comprehension. It pretty much sucks when the marker obviously doesn't see your point. To think I made it clear right from the start that differences in the factors that determine a country's stage of development would be mostly responsible for the different states of development between countries. And then I gave examples on how these factors could differ and how they could affect development, eventually having an accumulative effect on the country's development. If the marker had bothered to keep that first point in his head, he obviously would have seen what I was driving at. Nevertheless, I got my highest language mark ever, 14/20 when I normally manage 12. But still, 55... that's kinda low. =S
Saw something quite.... unbecoming on the bus on my way home earlier on. When the bus got to the stop outside the Metta school in Simei and this student from that school boarded. It wasn't that she was fat (she was), it was the way she walked. She was almost stomping around in a MANLY manner. So what happens when you see a short, stout and a lil overweight young lady stomping her way to the seat next to yours? No, you do not move to another seat, you just grind your teeth and bear with it for the rest of the journey. It didn't help that she was perspiring too. Sounds like I'm discriminating against her, but I'm not, I can't because I used to be obese, so I should be the last person to do that, not because of her weight issues (by the way, I saw a record low for my weight this morning. 41.5kg. Lol, I haven't see anything lower than that in 9 years). But it did feel a little awkward seeing her stomp around. And seeing her wipe her sweat off with her already sweaty palms and then proceed to touch the poles (why do you think I came home and immediately washed my hands?). Managed to sneak a glance at her student's pass. Born in 1990, which makes her 15 this year. She didn't look 15, she looked like me when I was 10 (the build, heights etc). Anyhow, that's all over. So all's good.
5 weeks to the A Levels, 8 weeks to freedom. Can't wait for the A Levels to be over. Yet I'm terrified at the prospect of it actually descending upon me. T must be delighted to know her sweet S is coming back to be with her, that he swopped classes so he could help her through her A Levels. Lucky girl lol. Me, I'll just try to do what I've been doing and hope I don't freak myself out again. People seem to think I have some special strategy when it comes to studying. I was asked if I had a study timetable, and I somewhat cooly replied "no, I study as and when I want to". I got another incredulous look for a reply. Lol. Wish I did, but I realise that I'm not very good at keeping to timetables, my mother tried that on me when I was in primary school, even allocated time for me to practice on the piano which was actually a keyboard which doesn't have enough keys for you to play a proper song haha which I of course spent the time watching Scooby Doo on tv =X. And I never ever did my music theory homework, explains why my teacher only wanted to do the practicals with me, 'cause she knew I would never do my theory. And I still remember my mum rapped my knuckles during my first piano lesson until they were swollen.
Ok, I guess I should stop, will continue tonight if I have the time.
don't wanna use my blogger display name. what in the world is ionic breeze? hahahaha don't dare click on the link, prolly is some webbie with spyware and viruses. poor you, flooded with advertisers..
I'm a 3rd year student in what is probably the largest autonomous university in Singapore majoring in a Science-related subject (well it sorta IS SCIENCE). I'm known to be introverted, sarcastic (at times), funny when I rant (which isn't a good thing lol) and somewhat of a loner. I miss LA and would move there in a heartbeat :(
