Guess what? I am DONE with my core chem topics!!! Gonna move onto biochem tonight and hope to finish it =)
Today was a momentuous day. Why? Because I got my very first ATM card. I know that it's not such a big deal, but it is to me, because now I can afford to actually deposit my money into my savings account w/o worrying about the loss in liquidity and what should happen if my precautionary demand for money should rise (smack me, I'm talking econs!). Oh yes, the econs-talking crapper is back, for a while I reckon. I am going to piss a few people off with those 2 terms; liquidity and precautionary demand. Lol. How fun.
I went to the bank today and there was a loooong queue, queued in line for about 20mins before it was my turn. Withdrew most of my savings (which will most probably be channelled into an account with Ambro bank) leaving a comfortable sum in my DBS account. Just enough for me for a long time. I now have an ATM card, wheee.. haha.. I can now withdraw money from ATMs!! This sounds childish, but HECK! Glee at receiving that dark blue DBS ATM card, but a little disappointment that that was all they did, no name, no nothing on the card save for the "serial number(??)". What happens if I lose it? There won't be any way of getting the card back. Of course I'm hoping that it won't happen. Moreover, I do have an EXCELLENT track record at holding onto important items, having NEVER lost a student's pass, IC or a set of keys. =) I can't help but take out my ATM card and admire it. Lol. I sound psychotic now, stop Phoebe, STOP!
Anyhow, it started raining cats and dogs on my way home, my feet were drenched by the time I got home and my dogs were running around with their tails tucked between their legs. Well, once I got home, they wouldn't stop following me around, to the extent that as I was entering my room (dogs are disallowed in rooms, house rule), my black dog ran into my room before I could, made a round around the computer table, made a round around the toilet bowl and sat next to the toilet bowl, refusing to budge. I had to coax her out and put her outside the room where BOTH dogs were now trying to enter the room (lol). It was virtually impossible to shut the room door with both hands trying to restrain two very desperate dogs. Lol. Whenever my mum tried to call them, they would run halfway to her, before deciding to come back to me (double lol). Eventually she managed to distract them long enough to allow me time to shut the door. Later, I found out that the black one was to run into my mum's bathroom and camp there as well. How adorable.
I'm in the Christmas mood now. This is not good. Being in the mood for Christmas 2 months even before the day has arrived. Of course, this is largely due to me listening to Christmas carols (sang by Clay, mind you). Somehow, I find myself anticipating this year's Christmas, normally, I wouldn't even care. Ah... December will be such fun =) Such anticipation is unhealthy, in the light of my upcoming GCE A Levels. FOCUS Phoebe, FOCUS!!
Alright, I shall cease to blog for now, I have to let my dinner digest, take a shower and return to the torture of biochemistry. Biochemistry is harder than biology, ironically.
I'm a 3rd year student in what is probably the largest autonomous university in Singapore majoring in a Science-related subject (well it sorta IS SCIENCE). I'm known to be introverted, sarcastic (at times), funny when I rant (which isn't a good thing lol) and somewhat of a loner. I miss LA and would move there in a heartbeat :(
