I didn't update last night 'cause I was too tired.
The first day was quite a disappointment. We went there, not knowing what to do. We sat in the lounge of their grandest level for almost 20mins before someone addressed us. Afterwards, we were briefed shortly and then had an entire day of TRAINING.
The training was just like going back to school (junior college) for lectures. It was too deep for us. Most 18 year olds won't understand a thing about "tax on tax", TEQ and the nots. SO yes, we were lost almost all the time. By the 3rd "lecture", I was so tired I practically slept through 75% of lecture 3. After that, we went back to our workstations and played around with the laptops (we work with laptops, not desktops).
The people there were just cordial on the first day. No one, other than a lady named Diane, really spoke to us. No one offered us any suggestions on where to go for lunch. Wasn't exactly hunky dory between the temp staff (6 of us) and the perm staff. Just cordial.
The plus point is that Elaine and I (we share ONE workstation) have a view, from where we are sitting. We are seated right next to the window. SO we have a nice view of all the surrounding buildings, and the expressway and the Singapore river (more like the mouth of it) if you look hard enough.
Today we managed to do some proper work. I tried the tracker system, NITS, did some filings and stuff like that. SO it wasn't as boring as yesterday.
But wearing heels can really hurt. My feet are swollen and aching from wearing them. At least tomorrow's Friday. SO that's always good =)
I'm a 3rd year student in what is probably the largest autonomous university in Singapore majoring in a Science-related subject (well it sorta IS SCIENCE). I'm known to be introverted, sarcastic (at times), funny when I rant (which isn't a good thing lol) and somewhat of a loner. I miss LA and would move there in a heartbeat :(
