I just had a "OMG WTH just happened" moment earlier on.
I took a Continual Assessment for Cell Biology about 6 weeks back and the results are FINALLY out.
You see, I made a booboo that is sooooooo stupid, I'm surprised I even made it.
I misnumbered my question numbers.
Yes, We had 4 essays of which we were supposed to complete 2 (on top of 100 multiple choice questions).
So I chose the 1st question of the 1st section, and the 1st question of the 2nd section, numbering them questions 1 and 3. Only to realise just as I submitted the paper that they were in fact Section A Q1 and Section B Q1. Now bearing in mind that I've been brought up in this draconian system of "if you mis number your question, we will not mark it and that means you get a big fat zero", I got worried because each question was worth 20 marks.
That very night, I emailed a lecturer to tell her and never ever got a reply, so when I checked the results today, I was half-expecting to see something like 60-70%. Instead, I freaking topped the class. With 88.57%. Obviously the lecturers were kind enough to give me my marks for that misnumbering incident.
Lesson learnt. Read the Section numbers before numbering questions.
