Ok, I notice it's been a few days since my last entry, so here goes.
On Thursday, I was utterly insulted during the biology lecture. For those of you who saw my nick over the past 2 days (which has since been changed because it was disturbing to a friend), you'd probably know what was the term applied to yours truly. Well, the crappy lecturer NCK was crappy about foetal development and labour and then by some stroke of negative luck (mine), she commented that "the foetus should be called Phoebe". Ok, so it was comical to people who actually know me (who erupted in laughter, expectedly), I was left that, thinking "wtf?!?!?!" Ok, so my name happens to sorta rhyme with foetus, so?!?!?! It annoys me when teachers insult my name, because I happen to think my name's pretty nice, and it has a nice meaning to it. Bright, Shining One... that's what Phoebe stands for. What on earth does NCK stand for then? This is the 2nd time since I've entered junior college that this particular lecturer has insulted my name. Last year, she called me a FREEBIE, let me tell you this, not since a fateful geography elective lesson in secondary 4 has any teacher called me a FREEBIE (the name stuck for the rest of my miserable life in tkgs). At least I got my revenge back then, by calling the teacher "poodle" (not in front of her, but good enough). Anyhow, back to NCK. She DOESN'T even know me! Ok, MAYBE she knows me as the biology rep of the cg, but still, so? Even if she were my mum, she doesn't have the right to equate me to a foetus nor can she call me a freebie (grrr...).
Moving away from such an angry topic, let's talk about..... today! Yes, today! I went out earlier on to get a Mother's Day gift (yes, for those folks who forgot, it's TOMORROW). Let me recount an incident here (which is the basis for today's title). I was walking towards TM, when this guy accosted me. He's "selling" clocks to raise funds for abandoned babies (i think, or their mothers, who I think we should just allow to rot and die, if they don't want the kid, simply abort it or give it up for adoption. geez) and to get him off my back, I caved in (yes, catch me on a day when I'm in a rush, I usually give in relatively quickly). Before I left, he asked me "So... are you in Poly or Uni?" I replied "JC." Now here's the switch. Now what he said later on? "Ohhh.. you know you look like you're in secondary school? No offense, that's a compliment."
If I indeed look like a secondary school student, then what's up with the poly/uni question before that? Lol, he clearly is after my cash *punches Mr. Money-Face* It's not the first time that someone has told me I look like a sec sch kid, but it's definitely a first where someone has asked me whether I'm in a poly or uni... and then switch to the sec sch comment! PFFFT!!!
Alrighty, back to gift hunting. I bought jewellery.. Does it surprise anyone? 'Cause it's hard to go wrong with jewellery. I bought a pair of Sapphire ear studs (the crystals are HUGE) and a Sapphire necklace (they came as a set). It did not come cheap, alright? I'm back to my poor self again =(. The only reason why I bought Sapphire instead of any other crystals would be because my mum is into blue crystals (sapphire, aquamarine etc) this year. I'll be posting shots of what I bought soon, so watch out for it (let's hope my mum doesn't see it before tomorrow. Yes, I am being nice enough to let you guys see what I bought my mum even before she gets to lay her eyes on it. Worship me. Muahaha... ok, I'm joking, really)
Ok, I think that's it for now. ROSE is resetting its servers come Monday, bye bye Level 35 Muse. Geez, gotta work my way up again, that'll take forever, considering the limited time I have to play.
I'm a 3rd year student in what is probably the largest autonomous university in Singapore majoring in a Science-related subject (well it sorta IS SCIENCE). I'm known to be introverted, sarcastic (at times), funny when I rant (which isn't a good thing lol) and somewhat of a loner. I miss LA and would move there in a heartbeat :(
