Back from BKK
Alrighty... I'm back, after a week-long hiatus.

I've been back in the country for 2 days already (this is the 3rd). And Bangkok isnt exactly the best place on earth to go to. Let's start from the top, shall we?

Day 1:
The flight was alright i guess, not good, but not horrible. I disliked the seat because my head was tilted at a pretty awkward angle (no-no to Boeing 747 seats, the ones on Boeing 744 are nicer and more erm posture-friendly). I kept myself occupied during the flight thanks to Krisworld, and i spent the duration of the flight watching ROBOTS. Anyhow, before take off, they screened their safety video and i was amused. Out of all the airlines that I have travelled with (a few, which includes TG, Quantas, BA, Air NZ, Asiana), SQ is the ONLY one to remind its passengers to keep their SHOES on. WTH?!?!?! lol. So back to where i was at, during the flight, we encountered some massive turbulence, which sent my tea (which only took up half of the cup) swirling out of the cup. GREAT. That's why I hate sitting at the tail, you always get it worse. One thing I will give SQ the thumbs up for would be their punctuality. You know what i said about planes only arriving some 10mins before departure time (experienced that with ALL my prior flights), the SQ plane was at the airport, ready for boarding, even before i reached the gate, BOTH times. Wow. Amazing, how they actually take the effort to be at the airport early, plus we did arrive in Bangkok ahead of schedule (happened on the way back too, we made 2-3 circles in Malaysia, yup, saw the view from up there, beautiful i say) that we had to make circles around the airport (lol). We reached Bangkok, and walked a MILE to the immigration counter (took forever to clear us). before taking a mini bus to the mansion. It's some mansion that really is occupied by Singaporeans only, mainly because it's right behind the Embassy of the Republic of Singapore. Lol. Damn, why does our embassy look so good? On the first day, after setting in (a lil), we took a walk to their BTS (their skytrain) station, took the BTS to the National Stadium stop and walked to MBK (this HUGE shopping complex). Didn't buy much there, considering that it wasnt exactly cheap, only bought.. 3 pairs of earrings (i come home with lots of them, trust me), some undergarment and a pair of leather boots... Had dinner there at this chinese restaurant (as i reiterated a dozen times on the trip "who goes to thailand to eat chinese food?!?!?!") which wasnt too bad. After dinner, we continued walking.... until 8plus (the shops close then) before taking the train back to the mansion. End of day 1

Day 2:
Woke up at 7, had breakfast at 8 and after that we took the BTS to Chatuchak Weekend Market (pardon me for the spelling). Didn't buy a LOT there. Only bought some lamps, a wind chime(parents), jeans (2 pairs, which need altering.. why are my legs so short???), and a denim top. After that, we went back to finish up on touring MBK before making our way back for a rest. At night, we went to Patpong Night Market (spelling??) where we bought most of our stuff. Shirts, more lamps (my bro this time), paintings (my parents) etc. Obviously after that, we went back to our apartment

Day 3:
After breakfast, we made our way to their version of Little India where i bought 2 denim skirts for a dirt cheap price of 380Baht for both of them, which amounds to a lil over 15SGD. Patpong was trying to push it off to us at 500 Baht per skirt the previous night. lol. There, i TRIED to locate nurul's "belt" which had been elusive at all the other places but alas it was not to be (lol). The closest i came to was a baby pink version of it whereas she wanted HOT pink (ouch). The others were all gold . lol. Too bad i guess. Then we went to Chinatown, where my mum bought 2 packets of dried logans (never liked them *pouts*) and 500g of fish maw. pretty cheap i would say. Since we had nothing to do (chinatown was a disappointment), we headed to pratunam where again, we didnt buy much other than EIGHT (LOL) pairs of earrings for 100 Baht. We also bought calamine lotion (because I developed a heat rash on my 2nd day, its dead hot in Bangkok, averaging 34 degrees celsius i think)

Day 4:
Our last day. Didn't do much, other than have breakfast and pack. But my mum and I were packing everyday (lol) so we were ready anytime, anyway. Then i sit in the sitting room and watched National Geographic till it was time to go. The flight back was.... better. Still some major turbulence which sent my tea swirling out of the cup (again), but it was a better flight (better seat)

My haul from Bangkok?
  • 2 pairs of jeans
  • 2 denim skirts
  • 5 shirts
  • 2 blouses
  • 1 pair of leather boots
  • 11 pairs of earrings
  • calamine lotion
  • undergarment
  • 3 lamps
Ok, i should top, need to get back to studying. Chemistry, here i come.

I'm a 3rd year student in what is probably the largest autonomous university in Singapore majoring in a Science-related subject (well it sorta IS SCIENCE). I'm known to be introverted, sarcastic (at times), funny when I rant (which isn't a good thing lol) and somewhat of a loner. I miss LA and would move there in a heartbeat :(
