3 days to freedom!
Hiya

Haha, I cannot believe how much I've been playing the SIMS2 in the last 3 days. On Monday, I played for 3 hours, today for another 4 hours, and I think I might be getting back to the game after this.

Anyway, the majority of GCE A Level students have now gone on their holidays, leaving the pathetic S Paper students (I'm one of them. Boo hoo?) behind as we struggle to finish out papers on Monday. I'm not even in the mood to study, but then again, who would? After 3 painful weeks, who would?

Well, I skipped the class dinner, as planned, and headed out for pizza and the Harry Potter movie.

The pizza was great, it was cheesy, really cheesy and I adore cheese. Lol. The company was great, although I wasn't exactly very interactive, mainly due to my sleeping at 1am thing the night/morning before. So I went out feeling tired (Did I mention that I was playing the SIMS2 again and not napping before that? Lol). My apologies over not being very erm engaging.

The movie was....so-so if you asked me, a NON-Harry Potter reader. Yes, I've heard major gripes about the movie from HP (Harry Potter, what do I keep trying to type Happy Potter?!?!) readers. So this is what I think, from a non-HP reader's point of view. Firstly, being a non-reader will come back and bite you in the a$$ in irritating ways. But then again, it's an expected and forseeable problem. And then, about the Quidditch World Cup, I don't understand why would they even bother showing a massive and pretty impressive looking stadium w/o ever showing the match. That portion of the movie had a rather cut-and-paste kinda feeling to it. And yes, the actors and actresses are kinda growing up a wee bit too fast for the movie. HP didn't look 14, Ron definitely didn't look 14 and Hermione... looked... ok.. I'll give her credit for that one. Lol. Guys might come after me if I say something bad about Emma Watson. SO yes, guys, you may continue drooling over Miss Watson. Somehow, I wasn't exactly drawn to the character of Cho Chang, especially when she started speaking in a Scottish accent. Cho Chang sounds like a Chinese girl who was born in China and speaks with a Chinese accent. I don't even hear names like Cho Chang among Singaporean girls so to think that a British girl with the name of Cho Chang is quite unconceivable.

About the Triwizard tournament. I would have preferred to see the other champions (so to speak) battle their individual challenges instead of simply fast-forwarding to HP's turn. Another cut-and-paste effect there. And then..... excuse me but is it me or does the movie make the female contender appear wimpy?? Sure, it was probably in the book but wow, the author made the female contender go down without a fight? It simply made the girl look like she was there for fun.

Overall, I'd say I wasn't very impressed with the movie mainly for all the cut-and-paste feelings it gave me. I don't know if it was the case in the book but I thought it was beyond horrible to have that in a movie. There were some pretty entertaining parts but I couldn't get over how.... left out the movie made me feel. SO yup, my 2 cents worth on this movie.

I am going to stop now. Haven't really got much to blog about except this. BTW, just thought I'd say hi to Teresa =)

Phoe

P.S. YOU still owe me the list of 80 things about you. Come on, my exams are almost over, give me something to read after it, won't you? =)

I'm a 3rd year student in what is probably the largest autonomous university in Singapore majoring in a Science-related subject (well it sorta IS SCIENCE). I'm known to be introverted, sarcastic (at times), funny when I rant (which isn't a good thing lol) and somewhat of a loner. I miss LA and would move there in a heartbeat :(
