To summarise, Cambridge has officially murdered me for Econs and Chem.
I screwed up econs paper 3 by mislabelling my pmc and smc curves (I inverted the labelling, OUCH), and by noy completing the paper (ran out of time). Econs paper 1 was more difficult than the paper 1s of the past 7 years put together (I'm freaking sure 'cause I did the past 7 years' papers the night before, yes I am a MCQ freak). And I lost lots of marks for chem paper 2 by mixing up my reactions for the electrolysis of brine (DAMN). Chem paper 1 was easy (though I made 1 careless mistake and didn't know how to do 1 question) and econs paper 2 was tough (a little) but manageable.
Now all I've left would be bio papers 1 and 3 as well as my 2 "s" papers.
Anyway, I made the biggest ever boo-boo I could possibly make. I thought today's chem paper 1 was in the morning, at 8am. SO I went to sch at 7am. WHat happened was that I went to school and was greeted by the Fmaths students who stared at me, basically wondering why the hell was a Chem student doing in sch so early in the morning. Ok, so after 10 mins I couldn't take their staring and started to suspect I got my times mixed up and took out my entry proof, put the ruler under the word chemistry 01 and gasp!! 1430hours!!!!! The paper's at 2.30pm, not 8am!!! Haha, no wonder I was getting strange stares. I sat in the canteen, thinking to myself, staring at the watch. 7.20am, it read. Should I go home and continue sleeping or should I just stay on and study? Against my better judgement, I stayed on and proceeded to stare at chem questions for the next 7 hours. Obviously my better judgement was screaming "GET BACK HOME AND SLEEP YOU IDIOT! MAKE UP FOR THE 3 HOURS AND 30 MINUTES OF SLEEP LAST NIGHT!!!" So people, like me, do stupid things when they are waaaaay too tired and have things waaaaaaay over their heads.
After the paper, as I was walking home from the bus stop, I got smirked at! SMIRKED AT!!! By AH PEKS!!! I find their behaviour disturbing. Why would you smirk to a perfect stranger????? If it were a smile, fine. But a smirk???? I got smirked at by 2 different ah peks.... now that is extremely strange. Plus I don't think you would smirk to a stranger that obviously looks sleep-deprived! Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against ah peks, I just have something against smirking. Lol. Yes, I don't particularly like it when people, especially strangers, smirk at me. So please!!! NO SMIRKING!!!
It's late and I wanna sleep (a 2 hr nap isn't enough to top up on 210mins of sleep, trust me). Will blog sometime later, maybe over the weekend (although it's already Saturday). Woohoo! One more paper to cram stuff in for the normal A Level topcs!
Phoe
P.S. Heard that Yinxue got a reply from the University of Liverpool....where's mine?? *Prays to see the words 'unconditional offer'*
Hey WW, sorry about all the abbreviations, my apolgies if it confused you. Anyway, the really stressful period is now over and my exams will soon be a thing of the past. Thanks for commenting though, it was (still is) really appreciated
I'm a 3rd year student in what is probably the largest autonomous university in Singapore majoring in a Science-related subject (well it sorta IS SCIENCE). I'm known to be introverted, sarcastic (at times), funny when I rant (which isn't a good thing lol) and somewhat of a loner. I miss LA and would move there in a heartbeat :(
I Googled "Ah Peks" before I saw you gave a definition at the bottom of your post.
I should be working diligently, but I am taking the international-blogspot-cruise instead. I love finding smart, blunt bloggers!
P.S. - I loved your rant from a few weeks ago about your brother.
