My dad fixed the problem I had installing the SIMS 2 University Expansion pack and let me tell you that it is GREAT (the game that is).
The music sounds better (I am not kidding, the music is now different!!) and is kinda cool... more meals.. more options... and the sims get to play pranks on each others. The only troublesome part about college life would be how you have to increase their skills levels to be able to raise their class performance. One of my sims made the Dean's list. Lol.
Anyway, I have approximately 20 hours to go before I officially end the GCE A Levels. To be more accurate 19 hours and 39 minutes. It is so annoying finishing the exams after everyone else in Singapore, even though I supposedly have the company of... (I'm assuming) 100-400 students in Singapore (out of a plausible 14000-16000). Yup, that's probably less than 5% of the entire cohort. The pain, oh... the agony.
Anyway, thank you Teresa and Shufen for the luck for my S Papers even though I still have no idea what overcame me to try doing 2 ridiculously different "Special" papers, when the distinction rates for these papers don't even hit 40%. At least in my instituition, every year, supposedly anyway, one thirds of the students get Distinctions, another third leave with Merits and the rest simply fail. Of course that's 'cause usually, they get less than 10 students trying for these annoying and ridiculously difficult papers that leaves the rest of the school sniggering at us for being suidical enough to try one, much less me, being a little mentally challenged, along with 2 other poor souls in the school, to take BOTH. Ouch. Yes, I have twice the tendency of others to me masochistic and attempt to torture myself by taking the 2 most ridiculous "S" papers there are available. Who am I trying to kid?
My "S" paper journey has been nothing short of topsy-turvy. The first term was smooth sailing, except with my non-stop complaints about the ridiculous 3 hour wait every Monday because my earliest "S" paper lecture is at 3.45pm and I end school at 12.45pm. And then I saw people drop out of "S" Paper classes like flies (literally). You'd see a class of 50 today and the next week see 30 people and by the end of the term, there'd only be 18 left. Lol. Yes, the mortality rate is outrageously high (as with other S papers although their attendance seems a lot healthier than economics and biology, except literature, which I believe has 3 students?). The next thing I knew, I was having an attack of the conscience, basically telling me "What the hell are you trying to do??? Sacrificing my normal "A" Level subjects for "S" Papers, something ONLY government scholarship boards would bother looking at? " So I ended up missing 3 weeks of lectures. (Suddenly I see a falling Long-Run-Average-Cost curve where economies of scale are extensive and diseconomies of scale are hardly encountered..someone shoot me!!!! I'm talking economics!!!) The preliminary exams were fine... except I failed my economics "S" paper by half a mark and passed my biology "S" paper with flying colours (to me 48/75 constitutes flying colours when it comes to S Papers, in fact, anything above 50% constitutes flying colours!). Of course the tutors did our poor egos a huge favour by marking with one eye shut and the other almost blinded (roflol). Explains my 18/25 for my biotechnology essay although that's one of my favourite topics for biology "S" Paper (together with reproduction). And now..*gasp*.... my final hurdle in my entire junior college, and S Paper life, the final exams. After tomorrow, at 1700hours, I can throw away everything my tutors have taught me for S Papers over the past 9 months and no one can do anything about it *cackles*. It feels so good.
Of course that means no more crapping funny stuff with the biology "S" paper people during lectures when the lecturers aren't looking anymore. I swear to you, these people are a lot better than most of my classmates and my class in general. So thank you Amir (your name is first 'cause you read this LOL), Lili(Am I still all bones? Hahahaha, sorry, haven't gotten over that), Edwin (gosh....so lame...) and Jonathan (I can never follow what he says if the topic sways towards religion roflol).
What will make this whole thing sweeter is that I'm going out on Tuesday, to meet my secondary 4 classmates, ok, just some. I hope they didn't wait for me to finish the exams though, but it seems like they did, considering I am probably the only lost sheep who has to go back to school tomorrow (the probable last day of the entire exam) for papers. DAMN. Someone please tell me you didn't study for your S Papers (if you take them) because all I did was to go through the answer plans, read up the notes and erm yea... that's really about it. I am ready to go there tomorrow and basically vomit, crap and regurgitate 6 essays out in 5 hours and 30 minutes. Does anyone want to sponsor me a hand-cum-wrist massage post-S-paper exam??
I'm a 3rd year student in what is probably the largest autonomous university in Singapore majoring in a Science-related subject (well it sorta IS SCIENCE). I'm known to be introverted, sarcastic (at times), funny when I rant (which isn't a good thing lol) and somewhat of a loner. I miss LA and would move there in a heartbeat :(
