Yes, I quit. Yesterday was my last day. It was uneventful, it was a little boring but it was meaningful.
I started the day with nothing much to do. By 11am, I was so free I was walking around the office chatting to the other temps, and I continued doing that for the rest of the day. Lol. Anyway, some of my colleagues found out about me leaving from the managers and 4 of them threw me a farewell lunch. It was through that farewell lunch that I extorted my long overdue lunch treat from one of the accountants. Another one of the 4 pooled resources with the other temps and got me...
One stalk of yellow rose 1 box of Van Houten chocolates 1 box of mint chocolates 1 bar of Toblerone chocolate
My tax senior bought me another box of chocolates. Yes, I left with a chocolate bounty. I don't even know why everyone bought me chocolates. Do I have a chocolate face? I prefer VANILLA! Heh.
It was really sweet of my tax senior to get me something though. He'd been nice right from the start, always being mindful not to overload me with work and now that I was leaving, he bought me a box of chocolates, not just any chocolates, VARLHONA chocolates. Heck, I've never even heard of that brand till yesterday. I just finished the box of 9 pieces of chocolates and there was this particularly pretty looking PINK piece of chocolate. And I thought to myself , "Ooooh.. pretty.. let's see what's inside.". What was inside was LIQUOR! I've never had liquor chocolates before and that tasted kind of bitter to me. Moral of the story? DON'T pop pretty looking things into your mouth without thinking. Yes. That was my gullible moment of the day. That said, I'm sick of chocolates, after that box. LOL! I have no idea how I am going to handle the others. For now, they're going to stay in the fridge. Of course, now I am really going to have to hit the pool (after I'm done with this) and gym to lose all that extra weight!
A*STAR called earlier on, my clinical psychological interview got pushed to tomorrow morning. It's ok, it's at Orchard anyway and I can always head down to the PC show and book fair at SUNTEC afterwards because I'd be too early for my gathering with the gang later in the afternoon. I want my Canon Ixus 800 IS! Anyway, about the call, they sounded quite interested in offering a scholarship, the catch is, I haven't taken the SAT (and even though it isn't a MUST to have taken it, they'd much rather I did) and won't be able to take till October and I have to get the thing done by 4 August. Ouch. I'm now being told to go for the interview anyway and we'll see from then. Damn. If I had taken it, I'd probably stand a much higher chance at getting the scholarship.
2 months of rest coming right up. Sounds so good but it feels kinda weird not having anything to do now. Yes, I hated work when I had it, now that I don't I feel too free. I'm going to take a break this week and start studying for my Advance Placement Tests next week. I think I'm going to gun for 2 of them.
Ok, now that I'm done, it's time to get into that swim suit and hit the pool. Will cya again soon. Without any more complaints about work. Lol.

P.S. I put my MSN nick as "Why does Singapore Idol 2 have to come across as a mediocre karoake competition?" and so far, I've had quite a number of people coming up to me, saying things along the lines of "the guy's cant sing!", "I agree". Lol. Yes, the show felt very..karaoke.... I'm quite ashamed of it, really. Although deep down inside, I'm supporting for the dorky Paul Twohill. Well, he looks dorky, and I have a thing for well, dorky?
Nothing wrong about karaoke! It's just that Singapore Idol (like American Idol) should be more than a karaoke competition. They should just rename it to Karaoke Idol. Hehe. =)
I'm a 3rd year student in what is probably the largest autonomous university in Singapore majoring in a Science-related subject (well it sorta IS SCIENCE). I'm known to be introverted, sarcastic (at times), funny when I rant (which isn't a good thing lol) and somewhat of a loner. I miss LA and would move there in a heartbeat :(
Nothing's bad about Karaoke!
