The first week of the new semester is ALMOST over (it will be tomorrow, come 6pm). Let's just say that it didn't start on a fantastic note. Rather, my first day back in school was atrociously bad, thankfully the next 2 were fine.

The first day of school saw me having a 10am Bioinformatics Lecture and my lecturer only put up his lecture slides close to the wee hours of the morning.I printed the lecture slides and the practical handouts past midnight on Monday morning, in the process not knowing that there was a 2nd set of lecture slides to print out which was more important that the first which I had already printed out. Needless to say I was extremely lost during lecture, and then I was grumpy because the lecturer was obviously disinterested in teaching us (he mumbles to himself, talks too fast that no one can catch what he's saying). In addition, I couldn't get the textbook that I needed for Bioinformatics (I've since acquired it yesterday), I had a 4-hour break between my Bioinformatics lecture and the Bioinformatics practical where I really had nothing much to do. The practical didn't see me learning much and then when I got home with the intention of printing out the set of notes I didn't print and the watching the webcast of the recorded lecture , my printer would screw up and refuse to let me print the last 6 slides of the file.

Thankfully Tuesday got a lot better but I realise that I have really bad lecturers this semester (it's obvious that my university has lots of trouble finding good lecturers unlike in UCLA where they seem to be all over the place). My Statistics lecturer doesn't even know how we'll be getting our tutorial slots (he think that it's first-come-first served, but since it's done by the CORS systen, it's actually via balloting). Tomorrow will be my 2nd Statistics and Cell Biology lectures (they're twice a week). Cell Biology seems okay for now and I hope it stays that way.

The Experimental Molecular and Cell Biology module's lecture yesterday was fine, except I couldn't print the solutions to the pre-assessment.

Now I'm at home, on what could possibly be the one of the only 2 free Thursdays of the semester, studying. Well not studying, but reading my textbooks to try and understand what to expect in Bioinformatics (not very successful). Don't you hate my life? 'Cause I do too. Lol.

Happy New Year dear Phoe! I am so impressed with your studiousness and commitment. You will go far with those traits.

I'm a 3rd year student in what is probably the largest autonomous university in Singapore majoring in a Science-related subject (well it sorta IS SCIENCE). I'm known to be introverted, sarcastic (at times), funny when I rant (which isn't a good thing lol) and somewhat of a loner. I miss LA and would move there in a heartbeat :(
