Her condition took a turn for the worse some 6 days after she came home. She's still active, lucid, awake, semi-active in that I can tell she's begging to be let out. But she hasn't eaten much since yesterday, rejecting most attempts to feed her. In addition, she's having a really bad bout of diarrhoea today. She practically pooped all over the living room, you cannot imagine the stench and the horror when I walked out and saw the scene. I don't blame her, I know she can't help it and that she's feeling terrible. She spent the entire time looking at me sheepishly, tail tucked between her hind legs, trying to hide in a corner. It took me close to an hour to clean the living room up and it still stinks, so i sprayed an extremely liberal amount of air freshener into the living room only to realise that now, I STINK of DOGGY DIARRHOEA. *Scrunches up nose* So it's off to the vet this afternoon, hopefully it isn't anything the vet can't fix. UPDATE: we're back from the vet, she has a tummy upset so it's a relief. She now has medication for the diarrhoea (kaolin-pectin), more cimentidine, a new antibiotic and some probiotics to take to deal with the nasty stuff causing her diarrhoea. In addition, she gets to eat home cooked food (porridge with chicken- doctor's orders). |
