3 hours ago, i (together with the rest of the people comprising the FAU Exco) finally stepped down, after 1 year and 2 weeks in power. With that, i am free to announce our new exco (who really cares anyway? lol)

Although officially i have stepped down, i wasnt able to completely discharge my duties and get my replacement to take charge, because..he wasnt there. Lol. But there isnt much to take note of, actually, because each duty i/c's style is different and he has to find out which suits him. Anything as long as you get the work done, as i like to put it
Today, tjc celebrated racial harmony day. Unlike in tkgs, where almost everyone wore ethnic costumes (i wore a peranakan sarong kebaya, it helps when your ancestors are straits born lol), virtually NO ONE in tj wore ethnic costumes. Of those who did, almost 90% of them were clothed in saris. Not proper saris, well not those you'd see real indians wearing anyway. It's just one heap of cloth haphazardly wrapped around a girl wearing a spaghetti strap top. But i think the ones who wore real saris at least looked better. 5-6 of my classmates were clad in saris, which i thought at least 4 of them had pretty awful looking saris (my personal opinion). The colours werent too pleasing to the eye. On the other hand, a friend from FAU was wearing a really, really nice sari. Racial harmony day has virtually no meaning in tjc. I have no idea why we even bother. Unlike in tkgs where we have half a day of celebrations, we now wear the out of place costumes and attend normal lessons, a full school day.
This morning, during morning assembly, the new VP embarassed himself again. I dont think he felt embarassed, i would have if i were him. I reckon his skin is just thicker than mine. Last wednesday, he led the school in singing the school song, singing one line before us and making us follow him. Needless to say, we were giggling until the track well.. went haywire, and the school erupted into laughter.Today, he sang the school song with us, INTO THE MIC. Fine, but he got the lyrics wrong. The chorus of the school song goes "we're here with a purpose, we're here with a will. Temasek's aspirations to fulfil. We'll give our best, in all we do, steadfast and valiant and duty true."
He modified it. It became "we're here with a purpose, we're here with a will. Temasek's aspirations to fulfil. We'll do our best, in all we do, steadfast and valiant and duty true." I know it's only a word but it sounded strange, "give" and "do" sounds world apart. Now one did he do that, he changed the tempo haha. It's sung like "temasek's aspirations..to fulfil.." and it became "temasek's aspiraaaaaa...tions...to fulfil." I think he needs to learn up the school song before trying again. Lol.
Something that happened yesterday. FTONG has a habit of commenting of stuff allegedly "written" all over my face lol. Not to be taken literally, but you'll see what i mean. He pranced (not exactly, but i felt like using the word) into class, sat down, looked around, and suddenly, he said , "Phoebe, are you teochew?" I replied, saying yes (because i am). And then i asked, "how did you know?" His response? "You have the teochew face."
SOmeone, please tell me what a teochew face looks like, no dont send me a picture of myself, i know how i look like. But how can you tell something like that? 4-6 months ago, he told me i have the tkgs face (i'm from tkgs) and now i have the teochew face? WTH?!?!?! You mean my face has "teochew" and "tkgs" written all over it?

I'm a 3rd year student in what is probably the largest autonomous university in Singapore majoring in a Science-related subject (well it sorta IS SCIENCE). I'm known to be introverted, sarcastic (at times), funny when I rant (which isn't a good thing lol) and somewhat of a loner. I miss LA and would move there in a heartbeat :(
