Cramped-up toes
Today, even though V wasn't around ( I did a celebratory giggle when I found out), I still got loads of work.

It seems that my superior is handling way too many cases. Most of the other managers are doing 150-350 cases and mine takes on.....422!!!!!!!

In the end, Elaine took half of my load since she had to split 180 clients between her and another one of the temp staff. Talk about being lucky (them, not me)

Non-stop work today. First I had to finish the tasks I had leftover from last week, even though V wasn't around. Then I had the 422 clients' projects to handle. Before I did the last major thing for the day, rearranging all the control files in the office. Elaine and I did that.

While rearanging the control files, one rather thick ring file fell, and in a bid to save it, I swooped down to catch it with my arms, only to have a 2nd file fall over. And I tried to save the 2nd one too. What happened later on was that I successfully saved File 2 but failed to rescue File 1, which punished me by scratching my right arm at 3 spots (look out for proof!).

My workstation is now loaded with some sweets to keep Elaine and I awake duting work. It seems that no one walks around when we're busy working but the managers never fail to pop by when we have finished our work or are taking a break. So we must look like we're constantly skiving to them

Control files are a nightmare to rearrange. We would be arranging them in alphabetical order, from A to Z. And at "L", we would find files belonging to "E" and have to rearrange from E onwards. And almost 2 thirds into the rearrangement, my manager (A) tells us that she has even more control files with her, so we had to rearrange those as well, so we effectively re-rearranged the control files. Can you blame us for being so tired after that particular task?

My workload seems to be never-ending. Just when V was on leave, I thought I'd have some peace, but instead, other people would give me lots of work to do. ARGH. I seem to have work laid out for me to do almost all the time whereas certain temp staff have long breaks in-between their busy streaks. They're really making me work for my pay. Which reminds me, pay day in 9 days!!!! I get paid every fortnight =)

I can't wait for the Lunar New Year (on the 29th and 30th of the month).

29(Sunday): Public holiday
30(Mon): Public holiday
31(Tues): Public holiday 'cause the 29th is a Sunday
1 Feb (Wed): Half day because of blood test at the Health Promotion Board
7 Feb(Tues): Dental Surgery
8-14 Feb: Probably on MC.

I'm looking forward to them 'cause it means I get to skip work and sleep in.

My alma mater is supposedly having a Lunar New Year fair on the 26th of this month. Haha, and if it's anything going based on my experience, it's going to be not-very-enjoyable. Bad music, bad emcee. Of course the only good thing is going there and bumping into people you never thought you'd see, like my best friend from primary school who happens to be dating a girl in my ex-co-curricular activity. The alma mater has a busy year, if they go by tradition. Lunar New Year fair, Be Yourself Day, Mardi Gras (not the New Orleans version, ours is really some crummy thing). Of course with the new principal, nothing is certain. Can't wait to see how she runs the school to the dismay of the students, I'm expecting that because I've had prior experience with her.

My feet are aching and on the verge of getting cramps. This is what happens when you stand, stoop and carry heavy files, while wearing heels that are about 2.5 inches, for over 2 hours.

Last night, I had a steamboat dinner with YOU and YOUr friends. Somehow, I still feel..... weird being around them. Hmm... Strange feeling. Kinda like the 'stranger within the group' feeling. Probably normal. But then again, I wouldn't know, would I?

Location: Singapore, Singapore, Singapore

I'm a 3rd year student in what is probably the largest autonomous university in Singapore majoring in a Science-related subject (well it sorta IS SCIENCE). I'm known to be introverted, sarcastic (at times), funny when I rant (which isn't a good thing lol) and somewhat of a loner. I miss LA and would move there in a heartbeat :(
