Reunion Dinner? MY FOOT!
According to Chinese tradition, on the eve of the Lunar New Year, families come together for a reunion dinner. Aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents gather for a night of eating and catching up.

All my life, I've only had reunion dinners with my paternal relatives. Meaning 3 uncles, 2 aunts, 1 cousin (who's more than 10 years my junior) and 1 grandmother. It's no big secret that my grandmother passed on in 2004.

And last year we had the reunion dinner at a restaurant (uncles love showing off their country club memberships...)

I just found out that this year there will be no reunion dinner. Why? Because my eldest aunt feels offended by the youngest uncle. Because the youngest uncle called her a bad "Christian" (really, my paternal lineage is Roman Catholic all the way. I wasn't baptised because my mother is Taoist-Buddhist and would like my brother and I to eventually choose our own religions.)

SO hence, no one will be organising a reunion dinner this year. I'm glad, because my paternal side of the family isn't exactly one I'm hunky dory with. Too...arrogant. Yes, I think some of my relatives are arrogant. SO shoot me for it.

Location: Singapore, Singapore, Singapore

I'm a 3rd year student in what is probably the largest autonomous university in Singapore majoring in a Science-related subject (well it sorta IS SCIENCE). I'm known to be introverted, sarcastic (at times), funny when I rant (which isn't a good thing lol) and somewhat of a loner. I miss LA and would move there in a heartbeat :(
