Of University and Scholarships Part 2
I had a loooong day at work today, although the first half was considerably more enjoyable than the 2nd.

I'm still thinking about my university choices, and the application opened TODAY. One month to decide and I can't pick my 1st choice, but what the heck, the whole selection process for medicine is starting to put me off. Not to mention, I'm HORRIBLE when it comes to interviews. So it will most probably be life sciences for me.

The whole going to UK thing is going down the drain for me. For one, even if I do get a scholarship, I'd most probably not meet the deadline to reply to the universities. And my parents are expecting me to stay in S'pore.

My uncle (paternal) came over last night, which was odd because he never ever comes over.I walked out of my room for a cup of water when I bumped into him, me being at home, spec-less, couldn't recognise him till he was about 10m away. He then said "I heard you did quite well for your A Levels and are considering Medicine" It was then I realised my parents yabbled about my results and he's doing some buttering up 'cause as I excused myself and went back, I overheard him saying "first real doctor in the family". Sheesh. Trust my relatives not to be so status conscious. Of course, I don't think anyone told him about my pretty strong inclination towards the life sciences.

A colleague of mine and I were talking on the train, mainly about how we wish the company would erm retrench us before the contract (30 June) after the tax filing season (15 April) 'cause we were so sick of working there. I like the people there (SOME of them ok), but I hate the work.

I started on my PSC scholarship applications and don't think I will make the deadline for A*STAR. Haven't exactly got time to sit down and write the 2 essays, AND mail the form over. PSC's one is a lot easier, it being electronic. Hence, I may be making the call to give up on A*STAR. Man.

My preferred courses in University, in order of preference:

1. Life Sciences with a concentration in Biomedical Sciences (NUS)
1. Medicine (Microbiology) (NUS)
3. Biological Sciences (NTU)
4. Economics (NUS)
5. Sociology (NUS)
6. Economics (NTU)
7. Sociology (NUS)
8. Psychology (NUS)

Well, 8 is enough, ain't it? If I don't get into any of them I'd kill myself by jumping into the murky waters of the Singapore River! Lol.

Ok, I'm going to go to bed soon. Re-watched Moulin Rouge on tv last night, and I STILL love it. Teresa, did you watch it? Ewan McGregor's in it. Lol.

I'm a 3rd year student in what is probably the largest autonomous university in Singapore majoring in a Science-related subject (well it sorta IS SCIENCE). I'm known to be introverted, sarcastic (at times), funny when I rant (which isn't a good thing lol) and somewhat of a loner. I miss LA and would move there in a heartbeat :(
